I woke up super early and off for a walk around the grounds. The  Mayan Palace walkways are beautiful and lush plants and birds abound!

Stopped by to see Mr. Croc!

The Flamingos weren't out yet; will  have to see them tomorrow!

Beautiful birds singing  everywhere...

Hidden surprises!

After walking most of the morning, I hit the beach and pool where I talked to new friends, read, swam, and relaxed!

Nice first day......

Ending up an incredible safari week at the Ngoronomo Crater. My hotel has a great view of the crater. I began my adventure going to Tanguire National Park where there are an abundance of elephants. Coming out of my room at the tented camp lodge in the morning, I ran into an entire family of elephants! Then it was off to Serengeti for three days where I just saw a massive number of zebra and wildebeests. They travel together and look out for each other. I also saw a number of lions and panthers sleeping in trees. There was also an abundance of ostriches, buffalo, hippos, warthogs, and baboons. Tomorrow morning I will enter the crater to see the last of the big 5..the Black Rhino.

Staying at the Kindoroko Hotel in Moshi until morning when I begin the safari.

Met some nice folks at breakfast, who are from Britain and just finished climbing Kilamanjaro.

Today I went  on a coffee tour. The road got muddy and we had to get out and walk...

I am still remembering my last great day in Bagamoyo, where the students performed for me. They chanted, “We are sorry, we are unhappy, we will miss you. Then they rapped and danced and ended up in a line where I got a hug from each one of them-all 100. It was an incredible experience.
